| Hi! My name is Laura Perkins. I have lived in the Battle Ground area for 24 years. I taught in Battle Ground for 18 years and have been teaching at Covington for the last 3 years. My husband and I have 5 acres east of Battle Ground and have a McDonald's farm with a variety of horses, dogs, cats, geese, and ducks (and 2 twenty-something boys). I grew up in Ontario, Oregon, graduated from Boise State University with a bachelor's degree in music education, and earned my special education endorsement through Seattle Pacific University. I grew up participating in a 4H horse club throughout my junior high and senior high school years. My children have participated in a variety of 4H projects and I have been active as a 4H parent and leader during those years. I currently am leading a horseless 4H horse club that meets at Covington during the school year. We welcome any Covington students who would be interested in participating in our horse related activities! Last year we were able to visit the Silver Buckle Equestrian Center, learning to groom, lead, and ride a horse. |
