Class Schedule
Arrival/Bathroom & Wash Hands

After coming in from the buses, we put our backpacks away, find our names and answer a check in question.  Once we've completed our arrival routine, we take turns doing body jobs, (jumping on the trampoline, balancing, etc.) going to the bathroom and washing hands.

Stations/Choice Time

We rotate between a variety of activities designed to build social, literacy, math, writing, gross motor, art and science skills.

Circle

During Circle Time or “Large Group”, we sing hello, do activities to get ready for learning, put the date on the calendar, check the weather, sing a flag song, and put up the day’s schedule.  We also go over the learning targets, (what we will be focusing on) for the day.

Recess

We go outside to play each day or into the motor room if it’s really yucky outside.  We ride bikes, swing, run, jump, play with balls, go through the school garden and play on the play structures with friends from other classrooms.

Rest Time/Bathroom & Wash Hands

When we come in from recess, we lie down on the carpet while taking turns going to the bathroom and washing hands.

 Snack

While having snack as a group, we work on eating and drinking skills, social interactions, table manners, making choices and math concepts. When done, we clean up our dishes and transition to closing circle.

Closing Circle

To wrap up the day, we sit in a small group on the floor and read a story, sing a few songs and close our day of school.  We practice listening skills, pointing to and labeling pictures in books and answering questions.

Motor Room/Sensory Room/Library (Friday only)

On Friday, instead of Stations or Choice Time, we go into the motor room, sensory room and library.  In the Motor & Sensory Rooms, we do activities to build gross motor skills, balance, coordination and cooperatinve play. In the Library, we might read a story, watch a video, look at books independently, tell stories, have puppet shows, sing songs, play games or check out books.
