Welcome to ELL Department!
The English as a Second Language Program at Heritage High School provides instruction in speaking, listening, reading, and writing for non-native speakers of English from the intermediate to the advanced level in both English Language and Social Studies content classes. This sequence prepares students in the language skills necessary for successful academic work. The annual WLPT exam determines the placement level of students as they progress through our program to the appropriate grade level classes. In addition to ELL content classes, students are assisted in other mainstream classes by paraeducators Anna Hoshi, Tim Seabring, and Felix Gimenez.
This year we offer the following courses:
ELL Intermediate English 9-10 (L.Pociuviene)
ELL Advanced English 9-10 (L.Pociuviene)
ELL Junior English (N.MacCarthy)
ELL Senior English (N.MacCarthy)
ELL World History (N.MacCarthy)
ELL CWI (N.MacCarthy)
