Union High School has four security staff personnel.  Mark Rego is in the 100 building, Alex Mintz is in the 200 building, Josh Kreunen is in the 300 building, and Vern Gager is in the 400 building.

 

Union's campus security is more than just security.  We ask our security professionals to not only engage in typical security tasks, but to also advocate for students.  Their task is to create meaningful, positive relationships with each student housed in their respective buildings.  While their main job is to ensure a calm environment conducive to student learning, they are also available for students in capacities such as counseling, attendance tracking, and academic support.  Overall, our security staff may have one of the most difficult jobs on campus, but they do it well.  Many potential disciplinary issues are handled proactively, because our staff takes pride in knowing and understanding our students. 

 

Students should feel free to contact their home-base building security staff member for a variety of reasons.  If they do not know the answers, they can find them.
