                   General Education Development:  An Introduction

Many students become frustrated with high school and thus "dropout."  If this sounds like you, then let me introduce you to a pathway, the GED program in the Evergreen School District.

The district-wide GED program, located next to the campus of Legacy High School, is designed to prepare students to take and pass the Official GED Tests.  Students enrolled in this program typically spend two hours per week in class, and are required to complete 23 hours of individualized homework per week.  This homework was created with the students' input and targets the specific subject area(s) on which the student needs to focus.  Students continue to meet weekly in class until they are ready to take the Official GED Exam.

Additionally, students are taught the fundamentals of how to find a job: interviewing skills, resume creation, and writing effective cover letters.  Upon completion of the program, Evergreen Public Schools will pay for the cost of the Official GED Exam.

Remember, YOU are the essential ingredient in achieving your dreams.  The GED program is a viable option propelling you towards that goal.
